CATCH
"THE GIRL NEXT DOOR" ON CHILLER TV
Two sisters, go to live with their aunt Ruth after the death
of their parents. All seems well at first but Ruth's mental state
has been deteriorating over time, and the burden of having two
more children to care for seems to accelerate her descent into
madness. Ruth begins verbally, then physically, abusing the two
girls, often while the other children are watching--and often
invites the neighborhood to pitch in on the abuse. Click

REVIEWS HOME MOVIE
As more movies flood the viewing circle, it's very likely that
several will be filmed with the visual narrative of home movie
cameras telling the story by process of documentation. What keeps
them fresh is the ability to tell a story by doing so in ways
that extend beyond the norm. The norm being the flooding of reality
TV shows that entertain by showing us the interesting stuff in
life as opposed to the mundane. Read

P.A.M.'s
RUN WAS A GREAT SUCCESS
MODERNCINÉ TEAM's participation in P.A.M.'s RUN was largely
a success. In addition to making a $1,500 donation
on behalf of Kodak, for all the support they have given us over
the years, we were able to raise several thousand more dollars
for the cause. Our MODERNCINÉ TEAM had six runners
including Christpher King, our best trained athlete, who
placed 1st for the 10k run in his age bracket! Congrats
Christopher and we hope you run with us next year as well.
It was an honor to support such a great charity and we are thinking
about supporting P.A.M.'s RUN again next year! Here is a
link with some more details about the race and how you can take
action to fight against Pancreatic Cancer: Click

REVIEWS HOME MOVIE
"Here’s the deal: A while back I kept hearing through
the grapevine about a creepy indie movie called Home
Movie. The writer/director is Christopher
Denham, an actor I’m a huge fan of -- I still remember
his electrifying performance in Adam Rapp’s
Red Light Winter. The movie is a little The Blair
Witch Project in the fact it’s family home movies of
the Poe family." Read

IT'S
A WRAP FOR OFFSPRING
OFFSPRING, yet another Jack Ketchum/Andrew van den Houten team
up has just recently wrapped shooting. Director Andrew van den
Houten has this to say "I'm really excited about the footage
that we've captured here. Shooting in Michigan was key. I truly
feel that we managed to capture the essence of a small town. Everything
just feels very real and very raw, which is going to make this
one scary flick." OFFSPRING is currently in post production

CENTRAL EATS UP HOME
MOVIE
It was around 1984, and after borrowing
a HandiCam to film a friend’s wedding, my parents turned the camera
on their kids. As my little brother did his best “Putting on the
Ritz” dance, I repeatedly popped into frame to steal the show.
My constant upstaging must have gotten on his six year old nerves,
because the next thing you see is me getting cold cocked and the
camera being hastily put down while my parents rush in to break
up the sibling beat down. Ahhh, fun times... Read

FEATURES HOME MOVIE
Since arriving at this year's festival,
I had heard Home Movie was the one to see. When I went to see
the movie, the theatre was jam-packed with enthustiastic audience
members excited and curious to see yet another entry in the popular
hand-held horror sub-genre. ( I, myself was excited to see the
handsome Adrian Pasdar onscreen.) So was Home Movie a Blair Witch
Project or did it turn out to be a St. Francisville Experiment?

KETCHUM'S
OFFSPRING IN THE NEWS
Famed horror writer Jack Ketchum is cranking
out another genre offering for Andrew van den Houten (who incidentally,
produced THE GIRL NEXT DOOR and directed)… and it’s a sequel…
and the first one was never a movie. Confused? Don’t worry, I’ll
clear everything up for ya right quick! Observe: The
new horror film that Ketchum is writing will be based off his
1991 novel called OFFSPRING. That particular novel was written
as a sequel to another book entitled OFF SEASON. Read
